“We were honored to host Mark Casaday, CEO of EDGE LNG, for a fascinating discussion on the development of EDGE’s well side LNG production system and distribution network and its implications for solving some of the energy industry’s most pressing issues. While large-scale LNG export projects have dominated recent headlines, EDGE LNG and partner Galileo Technologies have pioneered a process in which LNG is produced at the wellsite using mobile treatment and cryogenic liquefaction units and delivered to local end users via partner NextEra’s “Virtual Pipeline” distribution network. Though EDGE’s initial scope was to source Marcellus dry natural gas for delivery to New England utilities during periods of peak demand, its broader opportunity set has expanded to include hot-button topics such as e-fracs and flaring of associated gas. As environmental and social standards become increasingly front of mind for operators, EDGE LNG’s mobile fleet of processing and liquefaction units provides an economic solution for associated gas flaring in the Bakken and Permian. Similarly, Mark highlighted the cost and logistical advantages associated with using LNG vs. traditional CNG to power e-frac fleets. As alternative fuels and ESG standards become increasingly important to investors and industry participants, we look forward to watching EDGE LNG’s development as they capitalize on the broad opportunity set for domestic LNG production and distribution.”
